STORY OF THE WEEK
The launch of Neo — your future housemate
In what feels like the biggest tech story of the week, 1X unveiled Neo, a humanoid robot built to help around the house.

It’s wild to think about. Rosey from The Jetsons is starting to look a lot less fictional.
Neo is designed to handle your household chores. It’s part housekeeper, part toddler — able to fold shirts, wipe counters, and (eventually) take on most tasks autonomously.
But is it actually good? Well… sort of.

The WSJ tested Neo, capturing what might be the most awkward dishwasher load of all time. For now, there’s still a human pilot behind a VR headset doing much of the work. But by 2026, the company claims Neo will be able to complete most chores on its own.
It’s basically like training a digital roommate. One that costs $20,000 or $499/month to rent.
Whether you think this is genius or insane, it’s a clear signal that physical AI is starting to integrate into our homes and daily lives.
When robots can do the chores and maybe even the shopping, what happens to ecommerce as we know it?
STORE OF THE WEEK
Unplugs x Platter case study
Ben recently caught up with Tom Worcester, founder of Unplugs, to talk about what it’s like building a second brand and why he wanted to invest in his storefront upfront.
After raising nearly $200K on Kickstarter, Tom wanted aShopify store that felt as intentional as his product.
Instead of juggling the complications that come with working with dev agencies, Tom partnered with Platter to launch a conversion-focused site that’s easy to manage.

Today, Unplugs new storefront has become the foundation of their 2026 growth strategy and a perfect example of what happens when you invest in your storefront early.
