Apple introduced Liquid Glass as part of WWDC25, along with plenty of other updates. The internet seems divided on whether it’s a precursor to an AR push or just an accidental copy of Windows Vista. Either way, some of these changes are going to impact ecom brands.
STORY OF THE WEEK
Did Apple quietly nerf your outreach?
In case you missed it, Apple held its annual WWDC event last week. You know, the conference where they gather MKBHD and tech influencers alike to show off the next big iPhone, Mac, and iOS features.
If your feed looked anything like ours, you probably saw the same thing over and over—a ton of posts about Apple’s new Liquid Glass design (yes, it’s a very shiny gradient that’s oddly reminiscent of Windows Vista).

But while everyone was busy clapping for gradients, Apple quietly introduced updates that could seriously impact how brands and marketers reach their customers.
Here’s what you need to know:
Unknown SMS folder: Texts from numbers not in a user’s contacts will be automatically routed to a hidden folder. Think Instagram DMs but for iMessage.
Smarter email filtering: Apple Mail now auto-sorts non-personal promotional emails into “Later” tabs, based on sender reputation and engagement. Lazy batch-and-blast will get buried.
Call screening: If you’re cold calling, you’re now cold calling an iPhone bouncer first. “Hi, this is Call Screening. Please tell us why you’re calling…”

Bottom line: The full impact is still TBD but automated comms are about to get harder for Apple users.
STORE OF THE WEEK
BoomBoom’s store is trending for all the right reasons

BoomBoom makes all natural nasal sticks that refresh, energize, and clear your head. The number one nasal stick on Amazon, it has also become a breakout hit on TikTok.
BoomBoom is the latest Platter-built store, launched just last month, and we loved working on this one. It is a great example of what a modern, conversion-focused storefront looks like today.
Here’s a few things we love about this store:
Shoppable videos embedded directly into the store, cherry-picking already viral TikTok content (with over 5M views) to help customers understand what the product does and build credibility.
Buy with Prime option at checkout makes an already easy-to-use store, even more frictionless. With so much success on Amazon (3,000+ reviews), this is a great option to increase CVR.
Loads of social proof, with mentions of 12,000+ reviews throughout the homepage and product page help build trust with shoppers.

In short: this colorful store nails social proof, video, design, and performance. And, the team at Platter built it in less than 90 days. 🤯
